Tell me your scanning process -- I think I can give you some pointers for better scans,

The drawing is pretty good -- love the design and costume details.

I go into photoshop, and hit the scan button, preview it then scan the thing. After I tweak levels and such.

What dpi are you using?

Try and scan full size art at double the print dpi in greyscale or colour, if your scanner/comp can't handle that, sull size art at the eventual printed dpi. The higher resolution your initial scan the better quality line art you get when you reduce size and dpi.

If your scanning a 10x15 page for a colour comic that will print at 400dpi, scanning in greyscale at 800 dpi will give you the best quality linework. I do know people who always scan at 1200dpi, though.

More recent computers can usually colour print size artwork at 400dpi, but I know a few tricks if your set up is a little older. Lemme know if you need them.

300 dpi normally. Thanks for the tips. I am useless with most computer stuff. lol

Anytime -- just ask.

300dpi is an okay final print output for uncoated paper, but most comics are printing at higher resolutions. B&W comics print at even higher resolutions since the linework is important and doesn't have the colour to cover any raster.
